Type Locality and Naming

Along the distorted name of the Kamprak Gorge, Southwest Gissar. N.P. Kheraskov, 1934 (487, p.21). Stratotype on the western slope of the Kamprak Gorge, at the southern end of the Kelif-Shirabad ridge. Lowermost formation in Kamprek Gr. It is part of the Kaligrek Horizon (55; 115; 133; 167; 274; 361; 362; 415; 452).

Synonym: Kaligrekskaya Suite, Калгирская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Gray clays, siltstone (aleurolites), sandstones with layers of limestones and red-colored sandstones. Thickness 40-95m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lies with erosion on the Okuzbulak Fm (Oquzbulak Fm) (Okuzbulak Gr)

Upper contact

It is overlain with erosion by the Kulkamysh Fm.

Regional extent

Southwest Gissar, Bukhara-Karshinsky region. Corresponds to the Aksu Fm (Aksuy Fm) and Gelandaryin Fm.
